Nipah palms grow naturally and abundantly along the coastal areas and mangroves swamp of Sarawak. The sap is harvested by tapping the flower of Nipah Palm, and collecting the sap overnight.

Sarawak Gula Apong resembles treacle and is golden brown in color. It tastes sweet and slightly salty, due to the inherent salt content of the Nipah palms, which are constantly bathed in saline water.

Appearance : Granular Texture

Application : Normally used as a natural sweetener for coffee, tea, drinks, sauces, baking, salad dressings, marinades, cooking and desserts. The more you consume coconut sugar granules, the more benefits you reap from its healthy compositions including Vitamin C and minerals like iron, potassium, sodium, zinc and copper.

Use as 1: 1 ratio as replacement for high fructose sweeteners /cane sugar.
